About Sampuran Kheti

With Sampuran Kheti, we believe there is a much better way of farming - A more valuable and efficient way. We are quite passionate about it and our mission is to educate farmers about the same.

Sardar Avtar Singh and his team developed the concept of “one preparation for more crops”. Various combinations of crops have been planned and this intercropping has been derived after a long and extensive research at good grow farms East in 1999. Our target is to achieve more with lesser efforts. This is feasible with effective ploughing techniques. For instance, planting three to five crops after only once preparing the fields and ploughing after a year and a half.

Thumb

Comparing Sampuran Kheti to conventional farming techniques, there are many benefits.

Let's examine them in detail below:

  • Crops can help each other to grow and provide nutrition to each other. For example, intercropping of wheat, gram and menthe: In this combination, gram does nitrogen fixation and menthe gives organic matter and fulfils the requirement of humus in soil.
  • Since plants provide nutrients to each other, the use of chemicals and fertilisers is reduced, thereby, reducing costs & also promoting a more non-poisonous way for farming.
  • Very suitable for small groups of 2-3 farmers working on the same field.
  • Farmers are able to better cope up with the market fluctuations & harsh weather conditions.
  • The natural fertility of soil is very important when you look at long-term usage of the same land. Sampuran Kheti takes good care of the same.
  • Decreased use of pesticides, improved quality of soil, savings upto 75% on water usage - All of this leads to an incredible impact on the environment and helps preserve it, without compromising on the quantity as well as quality of yields.
  • The unique decomposition techniques reduce wastage and prevent air pollution which is otherwise caused due to burning of leftover crops that get converted to carbonic compounds and contaminate air.

The four crops we are emphasising on are wheat, sugarcane, cotton and lastly, mustard. This is not the limit and we plan to increase the diversity of crops including with passage of time. Special sowing techniques to prepare land for multiple crops at a time have been discussed on the website. From beginning to end, we have researched and covered every aspect of the process - variety of crops, preparation, direction of ploughing, method of farming, irrigation, harvesting.

So, what are you still holding out for? Go ahead and reap the benefits of amazing farming techniques with Sampuran Kheti
